New Chief Commercial Officer and sales team appointments

Danelec Marine has made three key appointments this May, with a focus on strengthening our ability to support customers globally, and in the key German and Eastern European Markets.

Christian Kock joins us at the beginning of June as our new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), an important management position with responsibility for the company’s sales performance across the board. Christian will work closely with the global sales team from our HQ in Denmark and report directly to Casper Jensen, the CEO of Danelec Marine.

A seasoned expert in growth and business optimisation, Christian previously worked at Danish maritime satellite communications company Cobham SATCOM, where his most recent position was Senior Vice President, Maritime, Sales. Having held key positions at the company since 2011 he is highly regarded as an experienced manager and is well-versed in the market challenges and needs for new maritime technologies.

“The demand for certified equipment like VDR remains high and based on the quality of the team and facilities at Danelec Marine, I am sure that our portfolio will continue to secure its market lead,” said Christian. “Likewise, I believe that Danelec has a very exciting strategy for maritime IoT and I am keen to grow this area as more customers see how solutions like DanelecConnect can optimise their business and vessel or fleet operations.”

Joining Christian’s sales team from Germany is our new International Sales Manager, Paul Robbe. Based in Hamburg, Paul will contribute his long-term experience gained while working with operational technology companies Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine and Raytheon Anschütz do Brasil, where he has held diverse management roles in product sales and business development since 2004.

As part of Danelec’s global sales organisation, Paul is tasked with leveraging his knowledge and experience to primarily ensure that our German and South European customers can make the most of their investment in Danelec VDR and our hardware and software solutions for maritime IoT. Likewise, our new International Sales Manager based in Poland, Wojciech Bakierski will provide similar customer support to our Eastern European customers.

Based in Gdynia, Wojciech started his maritime career as a deck cadet on the s/v Dar Mlodziezy in 2001 but returned to dry land in 2006 when he started his first job dealing with ship technology as a Sales Specialist for Onboard Systems & Simulators at Polish operational technology company Enamor Sp. z o.o. He spent the last five years as a Key Account Manager at Furuno Poland Sp. z o.o., and now brings his deep understanding of technology to support Danelec clients in meeting regulations and leveraging data connectivity with IoT systems.

New CCO Christian concluded that “I’m delighted to join the Danelec team at a time of growth and are looking forward to getting to know my colleagues in Denmark and abroad. It’s certainly exciting to start this job as the maritime world continues its digital transformation, especially as I am confident that Danelec is well prepared to deliver innovation that will help our customers to succeed in a competitive market.”
