Danelec is in the process of designing a new generation of core products, in which you will be heavily involved.

Danelec is the leading supplier in the world of data communication solutions for the marine industry, especially in Voyage Data Recorders (black box for ships) and the company is also strong in Ship Performance Monitoring equipment. In addition, we have developed the pioneering IoT/Big Data product DanelecConnect.

At Danelec we work primarily with 'state-of-the-art' technologies, several of which you will probably have experience with:

  • ARM processors - e.g. NXP LS1012A and LS1023A
  • Intel CPUs
  • High speed RAM design - DDR3L, DDR4
  • Ethernet controllers and switches
  • High speed communication - SERDES, PCI express, SATA
  • PCB design and layout - OrCAD, Allegro
  • SMPS - low power DC/DC converters
  • Type approval - EMC/EMI etc.

Professional qualifications

You are a graduate engineer with some years of experience in hardware design in digital electronics and microprocessors. It is important that you have an understanding of the requirements of type approvals, EMC/EMI testing, etc. and that you are used to handling the entire hardware development process.

Furthermore, you have a good command of written and spoken English, as you will be working with foreign customers and suppliers.

Personal characteristics

You are thorough and systematic in your work and able to quickly grasp new issues. In addition, you are expected to have a highly professional attitude, good interpersonal skills and a good dose of resourcefulness. You are good at planning your work in an efficient way and able to give qualified input to time planning.

You will be motivated by the versatility of working in a small growth company where flexibility is sometimes required.

You are offered

A challenging and influential position in an exciting international company that is highly successful, financially sound and well respected within their niche. You will be very responsive to your ideas, have the opportunity to shape your field within hardware development - and you will have excellent conditions for your personal and professional development.

Your future colleagues are passionate and proud that their products in data communications greatly influence developments in the marine industry, and as one of the leading "black box" suppliers, Danelec's VDR product has formed the basis of many maritime accident and incident investigations. The company's equipment is installed on a preponderance of cruise and cargo ships worldwide.

The atmosphere is informal and the culture is one of professionalism, a flexible working environment and a high degree of autonomy.
