P25 Base Station with UIC

The Daniels Universal Interface Card (UIC) provides customers with access to our P25 base station’s signals through an Ethernet interface. The UIC interfaces with RF Subsystems and other console equipment, thus enabling 3rd parties access to a wide-range of signals, controls and functionalities that already exist on our radio modules. This is an all-digital solution. No intermediate analog gateways are required.

All of the backplane signals as well as the front panel connections between the transmitter and the receiver are extended externally out of the radio via the UIC Ethernet connection. This will provide additional functionality compared with the analog offering currently supported on Daniels radios via the Aux interface.

P25 General System Model

The Daniels digital Universal Interface card (UIC) provides an Ethernet connection from our MT-4 P25 radio system to other LMR subsystems in a P25 network. As shown in the TIA APCO P25 general system diagram to the right, this interface interconnects the Fixed Station (Daniels Radio) with a Console or RF subsystem at the Ef connection. This interface will provide new features and greater connectivity between P25 using the Fixed Station interfaces developed at the TIA standards committee.
