Receivers
The receiver modules plug into all Daniels Subracks and are modular in construction. Inside each receiver, the IF/Audio Main Board, the Front End, and the Synthesizer module are individually assembled and tested which facilitates tuning and maintenance. Internal memory can be programmed for 16 preset frequencies. Standard features include internal filters (voice / subtone), RSSI circuitry for external voting equipment and options for fast RX response times. The receiver modules are constructed with anodized aluminum and stainless steel hardware. All circuit boards are glass epoxy construction with gold plated module connectors. The receivers comply with FCC and IC standards at the time of manufacture as well as IEEE 1101, DIN 41494 and IEC 297-3 for mechanical dimensions. Daniels transmitters and receivers have been specifically designed for extended reliable operation under extreme environmental conditions and draw minimal current, making them ideal for installation in transportable systems or at remote solar cell powered sites.MT-4E RX (Analog or P25 Digital)![]() The MT-4E receivers offer high performance and low current consumption and are capable of 12.5 kHz (narrowband) 25 kHz (wideband) operation (analog only). Daniels P25 receivers can be used in repeater or base station configurations and may be operated in digital P25, analog or mixed mode. If a firmware upgrade is purchased they may also be programmed for 12.5 kHz P25 digital operation. An encryption module may also be purchased for secure digital communications.
Settings such as Frequency, CTCSS, NAC and analog/digital/mixed mode operation are PC programmable via the Daniels Radio Service Software (RSS) which can be connected to the receiver through the front panel USB port. The receivers can be programmed with up to 2 banks of 16 channels each. MT-4E receivers are available in two versions supporting either Class A or Class B performance as defined by TIA. Class A receivers offer improved Adjacent Channel Rejection, Spurious Response Rejection and Intermodulation Rejection. Class B receivers are optimized for low current drain. P25 Firmware (APP-RSS03-WC-xx)Field flashable upgrade for MT-4E RXs allows P25 digital channels. P25 Encryption Module (ENCRYPT-MT4E-xx)Field installable upgrade for MT-4E RXs allows AES-256 or DES-OFB 64-bit encryption for secure P25 digital channels. The encryption module is compliant to the security requirements of FIPS 140-2. A software package APP-FIRM30-W-XX Encryption Firmware is also required with the encryption module. Status Tone (APP-FIRM30-W-XX)The Status Tone firmware, enables a status tone when the receiver is squelched for voting applications. Lowband RXs![]() Daniels MT-3 analog FM VHF Lowband receivers operate in 20 kHz channels. They operate in one of two frequency bands: 29 MHz to 38 MHz or 38 to 50 MHz. They can be programmed to have up to 16 channels.
Analog AM ReceiverThe Analog AM Receiver is a high performance synthesized multi-channel receiver capable of operating for regular AM voice radios and for digital applications with CPFSK (Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying) 2400 baud in 25 / 8.333 KHz channels. The AM receiver operates in the 118 to 138 MHz aviation band. The synthesizer module can be programmed to have up to 16 channels and channel 16 can be programmed from the front panel frequency select handle.
