DANIELS ELECTRONICS AND ZETRON INC ANNOUNCE A DIGITAL P25 ETHERNET INTERFACEVictoria, B.C. Canada – May 15, 2006 - Daniels Electronics Ltd., a leading supplier of high reliability LMR radio equipment, and Zetron Inc, a leading manufacturer in mission critical communications, today jointly announced the development of a Digital Ethernet Interface between their products, enabling direct digital connection from the Daniels P25 digital radio to the Zetron IP-based dispatch consoles in accordance with the TIA Fixed Station Interface standard. The Daniels digital Universal Interface card (UIC), provides a digital Ethernet connection from the Daniels MT-4 P25 radio system to other LMR subsystems such as IP-based dispatch consoles in a P25 network. In accordance with the TIA P25 general system model, this interface interconnects the Fixed Station (Daniels Radio) to a Console or RF subsystem at the E f connection. This interface provides digital audio, new features and greater connectivity between P25 subsystems. “Our existing UIC has enhanced firmware to comply with the new TIA Fixed Station Interface standard and, as a result of today’s announcement, will also interface to the Zetron family of consoles. This adds another key piece to the P25 interoperability puzzle”, says Robert Small, Chief Operating Officer of Daniels Electronics. With the addition of the digital Ethernet TIA Fixed Station Interface, Zetron’s console product line continues to lead the industry in offering the widest variety of supported radio systems, making it an ideal solution for mission critical dispatching as well as interoperability patching. “Our ability to offer end-to-end P25 digital connectivity in accordance with the P25 Fixed Station Interface standard represents a significant milestone in the P25 development.
