DANIELS DEMONSTRATES P25 ENCRYPTED BASE STATION

Montreal, PQ, Canada - August 9, 2004 – Daniels Electronics Ltd., a leading supplier of high reliability radio base stations and repeaters for remote public safety applications, today announced at the APCO International Tradeshow in Montreal it has launched a new generation of P25 Base Stations supporting secure (encrypted) communications.

The Daniels MT-4 Digital P25 Base Stations allow mobile radio users to communicate in secure (encrypted) or clear digital mode as well as in analog mode from the same Base Station. The Base Station automatically detects analog and digital signals as well as encrypted and nonencrypted signals. AES 256 bit and DES-OFB 64 bit are supported and compliant to the security requirements of FIPS 140-2.

P25 (Project 25) is a public safety standard for digital wireless communications defined by the Association for Public Safety Communication Officials (www.apcointl.org). These standards enable users to communicate with other agencies and mutual aid response teams in emergencies, for the safety and security of communities across North America and the world.
