DANIELS ELECTRONICS AND AVTEC INC ANNOUNCE A DIGITAL P25 ETHERNET INTERFACEVictoria, B.C. Canada – May 15, 2006 - Daniels Electronics Ltd., a leading supplier of high reliability LMR radio equipment, and Avtec Inc, a leading manufacturer in mission critical dispatch systems, today jointly announced the development of a Digital Ethernet Interface between their products enabling direct digital connection from the Daniels LMR radio to Avtec dispatch consoles. The Daniels digital Universal Interface card (UIC), provides a digital Ethernet connection from the Daniels radio system to other LMR subsystems such as dispatch consoles. The digital Ethernet Universal interface provides a digital audio signal directly to the console as well as a comprehensive suite of control signals allowing the dispatch console to see and manage all information associated with a call in an IP format. “We are very pleased to be able to digitally communicate with the Avtec consoles, as this provides public safety agencies with choice of vendor and improved communications in addressing their interoperability requirements”, says Robert Small, Chief Operating Officer of Daniels Electronics. The DSPatch family of integrated voice communication systems combines advanced digital switching technology with a simple and easy-to-use interface. The system is fully redundant and a single component failure will disable no more than one console or one external line. Each system includes a secure dialup connection that can be used for remote maintenance by the Avtec factory or by system maintainers. "The Land Mobile Radio market is going through many changes.
